Announcement from the Doğan Group

28.05.2015

We would like to share with the public the actual situation surrounding the deliberate and misleading news flashes in the form of “Tender Ban for the Doğan Group” by some media outlets today and yesterday.

A ban verdict has been passed for the public tenders in 2009 for Petrol Ofisi A.Ş., with which we have terminated our partnership relations in 2010. As per the relevant legislation, the abovementioned banning resolution has included in its scope our holding company as well, as the governing partner. The relevant legal process about this verdict is continuing.

In the meantime, and at the stage the matter has returned to the local court to be re-heard following the State Council refusing the parties’ request to have the verdict amended, the request submitted by OMV Petrol Ofisi A.Ş. “to insist on the first verdict passed in our favour” has been accepted by the local court, and thus, the local court has insisted on its original verdict to cancel the tender ban. As the case is in this precedent verdict, we would like to state that we expect the same verdict to be issued by the court about our company as well, about the tender ban we had been subject to, purely due to the fact that were partners with Petrol Ofisi A.Ş..

Indeed, this ban verdict is only about our holding company Doğan Şirketler Grubu Holding A.Ş., which does not plan to bid in any public tender, as per its field of activity, and does not affect or cover any other Group company. Therefore, the news articles which imply a ban on our entire Group are fully deliberate and wrong.

We would like to respectfully submit for the information of the public.

On behalf of the Doğan Group

Ahter Kutadgu

Vice President in charge of Corporate Communications
