Doğan Group donated 1 million TL to Hürriyet Houses Campaign for Van Earthquake Victims. Hürriyet’s campaign to provide shelter for the earthquake victims receives great attention.
Doğan Group donated 1 million TL for the Hürriyet Houses to be built by the Daily in Erciş, Van, which received the biggest damage during the earthquake. 500 thousand liras came from Doğan Holding, 300 thousand liras from the Kanal D TV-station and 200 thousand liras by Hürriyet. Receiving great attention to its campaign from the very first day, Hürriyet aims to move the earthquake victims into prefabricated houses as the tough winter arrives. Besides Doğan Group, Trabzonspor football club donated 83 thousand liras, Limak Bitlis Cement company 50 thousand liras, LC Waikiki 82 thousand 500 liras. With 41 thousand 437 TL from small donors, the total amount exceeded 1 million 256 thousand liras, which means 152 houses for the region.
Equipped with kitchen, bathroom and lavatory, these houses will be built with high performance construction material and heat insulation and offer shelter to 5 people for 10 years.
