Güldünya Songs Were Performed To Help Güldünyas

On March 9, as part of Hürriyet’s ‘End Domestic Violence!’ campaign, the most famous female singers of Turkey performed the album ‘Güldünya’, the girl who became the symbol of women subject to physical violence. Accompanied by Enbe Orchestra, Sezen Aksu, Ajda Pekkan, Aynur, Aylin Aslım, Şebnem Ferah, Şevval Sam, Rojin and Funda Arar performed their songs to create funds for the Domestic Violence Hotline launched by Hürriyet.
 
Not only the singers, but also important people from business, media and art circles such as BKM, Naim Dilmener and Yaşar Gaga gave support to the concert. All revenue from ticket sales was donated to the Domestic Violence Hotline.

The purpose of the concert was to provide more funds for Domestic Violence Hotline to reach more women who are victims of domestic violence. Launched one and a half years ago, the hotline aims to give legal, psychological and medical help to these women.
 
Güldünya Album
 
Güldünya Tören got shot in the street by her brothers because of her relation with a boy unapproved by her family. While she was in the hospital fighting for survival, her brothers came along and killed the girl. Her family did not protect her, on the contrary, they let the guilty take her life. An album was produced in the name of Güldünya with the contribution of many singers.
