Doğan TV Group receives the “Group with the Highest Number of Women Executives” award

A “Women Friendly Companies” award ceremony was held at the Uludağ Economy Summit, the 4th of which was held this year by the Capital and Ekonomist Magazines. During the award ceremony, Doğan TV Group received the “Group with the Highest Number of Women Executives” award. Speaking at the ceremony, Rauf Ateş, the Editor in Chief of the Capital and Ekonomist Magazines, said women need to have a bigger presence in the business world.

Only 30.8 per centRauf Ateş said, “For 2 years now, we are conducting a study on companies that practice positive discrimination for women. We wanted to award these companies this year. The percentage of the women’s participation in the work force has barely changed in the last decade. The percentage which was 26.6 per cent in 2003 could only increase to 30.8 per cent in 2013. As per the Gender Gap Index, we rank 127th among 138 countries in terms of women’s participation in economy. There are nevertheless companies that invest in female employees.”
