Doğan Group employees unite at the 2021 Doğan Value Awards Ceremony!

Delivering the opening speech of the award ceremony, Begüm Doğan Faralyalı, Chairwoman of Doğan Holding, underlined the twofold purpose and importance of the Doğan Value Awards: a channel for promoting and upholding Doğan Group’s values and areas of focus, and a platform for recognizing achievement. “We position Doğan Holding, a deep-rooted organization with a history of 63 years, as a values-driven, pioneering, and sustainable investment group,” shared Faralyalı. “With our values-driven, responsible investments and our sustainability approach, we aim to make a positive impact on our nation and the world at large. For us, this is more than a vision; it is our philosophy—our reason for existence. This philosophy is guided by our values, and serves as a source of excitement and enthusiasm for our work every single day. ‘Better Is Possible’, but you are the ones who make it possible, and I would like to call each and every one of you to be the enablers and advocates of the Doğan Impact Plan.”

Begüm Doğan Faralyalı thanked all employees for adding value to the Doğan Group with their efforts, creativity, dedication, and commitment to the values, and congratulated the award winners. She also celebrated the 15^th anniversary of Kanal D Romania and the 50^th anniversary of Ditaş.

Speaking at the awards ceremony, Çağlar Göğüş, Doğan Holding CEO, shared his retrospective of 2021 and expressed his delight in seeing Doğan Group employees maintain their strong ties and team spirit at all times, create synergy, and celebrate accomplishments together. Doğan Holding, a 63-year conglomerate, has taken its well-deserved place in today’s world thanks to its ability to constantly evolve and redefine itself, commented Göğüş, and added: “Our greatest strengths are our values and our culture of adapting to and managing change.” Göğüş also emphasized that value-driven sustainable growth, organizational development and human resources, and sustainability were the main pillars of all of the group’s activities. “Sustainable transformation, value-added growth, and success cannot be achieved without our colleagues—our key stakeholder and capital,” Göğüş noted. “At Doğan Holding, we regard our human resources as our most valuable asset. With initiatives on career, talent, development, life, and innovation as part of the ‘Doğan: Your Nature’ program we launched last year, we will continue to support our colleagues in the ever-changing and evolving world of business.”

Göğüş expressed his gratitude to Doğan colleagues whose passion and dedication contributed to the group’s successful results in a challenging year, and congratulated award winners and nominees.

Years of Value Awards Presented

In addition to the “Value Awards” presented in 11 categories, Doğan Group employees who have made their mark with their loyalty, efforts, and value were also granted the “Years of Value” seniority awards in celebration of their 10^th, 15^th, 20^th, 25^th, 30^th, 35^th, and 40^th years of tenure. The awards were presented by Executive Committee members Eren Sarıçoğlu, Tolga Babalı, Vedat Mungan and Executive Committee President Çağlar Göğüş, whereas Alpaslan İçli, who completed his 40^th year at the group, was handed his award by Chairwoman Begüm Doğan Faralyalı.

Value Awards Winners Announced

Attending the award ceremony, Arzuhan Doğan Yalçındağ, Board Member at Doğan Holding, congratulated the winner of each category, and presented the ‘Value Award – Sustainable Value Creating Company of The Year’ award to Doğan Trend Otomotiv, the ‘Value Award – Implementation of the Year’ to Ditaş for the company’s ‘Lean Transformation’, and the ‘Value Award - Idea of the Year’ to Mustafa Erkan Kilci from Doğan Trend Otomotiv for the ‘Motorcycle Shared Damage Idea’.

The award ceremony, moderated by Şule Zeybek, saw İlker Ayrık take the stage and host entertaining contests for Doğan Group employees, who competed for a chance to win valuable prizes from Doğan Group brands.

Won by the hepsiemlak team for the ‘Brand Transformation’ project, the ‘Value Award – Project of the Year’ was presented by İlker Ayrık, who also appears in ads as the face of the brand. Bora Yalınay, CFO of Doğan Holding,  presented the ‘Value Award – Product of the Year’ to Çelik Halat for ‘Pure Flex’, and the ‘Value Award – Service of the Year’ to Doğan Dış Ticaret for the company’s ‘Raw Material Supply Service’. Çağlar Göğüş handed the ‘Value Award – Social and Environmental Sustainability Project’ to Sesa Ambalaj for the ‘Sesa Crusher Machine’, the ‘Special Value Award – Innovation’ to Aytemiz for the ‘Vaay’ mobile app, and the ‘Special Value Award’ to the Galata Wind team for ‘Türkiye’s First Green Public Offering’. Winning teams joined the live broadcast online to deliver their award speeches.  

Winners in the final two categories were presented by Begüm Doğan Faralyalı, with the ‘Value Award — Leader of the Year’ going to Osman Sever, General Manager of Ditaş and General Manager of Industry at Doğan Holding, and the ‘Value Award – Company of the Year Award’  granted to Aytemiz.
